Michelle Obama on Larry King Live

On Larry King Live the first-lady-in-waiting Michelle Obama, made a guest appearance to discuss her husband's campaign and to address recent smears from the McCain camp.

Mrs. Obama, wore a chic purple dress that had a black feather pinned on her left shoulder adding a touch of elegance, along with her flawless makeup which made her face look natural all with a hint of purple eye shadow that matched her ensemble.

Listening to Mrs. O articulate herself made me understand why Barack Obama, fell in love with this woman. She's very intelligent yet classy and even Larry King himself called her "extraordinary" -- and that she definitely is.

When King asked her about John McCain's "That one over there" comment (which he said to Obama during a campaign debate), Michelle simply stated "I didn't take offense to it at all."

She exclaimed how she was so engrossed in listening to what Barack was saying while checking the face expressions of the undecided voters, that when McCain said his comment it didn't resonate. She stated that she believes "Americans do not care about the negative smears, but instead care about what is to become of our country."

King commented that "Senator Obama always seems so cool and calm," and he asked Michelle does he ever get angry?

Mrs. Obama responded, "Yes of course Barack gets angry. But he doesn't get angry over smear ads or name calling. He gets angry over the unfairness in this country. He gets angry over the health care policies that do not benefit the American people."

She then proceeded to give a back story explaining how Barack's mother died of cancer, and how so many people lay in emergency rooms unable to get help due to not having good health care coverage.

The Chicago native made it very clear that her husband is, "Running for president to use his gifts and skills for the greater good. He sees the pain and struggle in this country, and he knows that in order to help everyone he must hold the highest position. This isn't an egotistical trip, and he's not in it to heighten his political career."

When you see these two together or separately, don't you get the feeling of love and authenticity?

They genuinely seem as if they want to help others -- which they proved in taking non-profit job positions to help locally in their community.

Mrs. Obama expressed that in the role of First lady, she would love to work with family and children but especially military wives and veterans; stressing how important it is for the GI bill to include excellent health care, jobs, homes, and funds for educational purposes. She also says mental health should be priority for every soldier, to ensure healthy family relationships.

Her husbands main focus is lowering taxes for 95 percent of Americans, while making sure everyone can get good health care. He also wants to create millions of green jobs to fix our infrastructure and clean up our public schools. Most importantly Senator Obama, wants to withdraw our troops from Iraq and fix our relationships with foreign allies. He wants to invest in the economy, in the country, and in us.

At the end of the interview Mrs. Obama, nonchalantly dismissed a negative remark made by Cindy McCain and instead complimented Hillary Clinton, calling her phenomenal.

What stuck with me the most was when she said this, "I really like campaigning. It would be hard if you don't like people. But we love people! I can be so tired but after talking to people and hugging people, they give us energy!"
