Melissa Harris-Perry Welcomes Babygirl on Valentine's Day

Congrats are in order for host of the MHP show Melissa Harris-Perry and her hubby James (seen above), for bringing into the world a new bundle of joy on the most loving day of the year -- Valentine's Day!

This past Saturday the Tulane professor made a surprising appearance on her show via Skype, after being away for a week. Naturally, 'Nerdland' followers were wondering what happened to our favorite host who was substituted by the beautiful and fabulously smart Grio editor Joy Reid, who by the way just received her own hour long show that airs weekdays on msnbc at 2pm. 

Mrs. Harris-Perry appeared with her 12 year old daughter Parker who seemed ecstatic about her new sister, and baby Perry was just adorable while chiming in her infant coos as the family doted on her. The MHP host got up close and personal as she shared the background story of how baby Perry was born; it took two families, one surrogate, three states, four doctors, and five attorneys to produce their newest family member.
