Hank Aaron Enlightens A Racist America

The legendary retired American baseball player who's nicknamed by many as "Hammer" or "Hammerin Hank", played successfully for the Atlanta Braves and the Milwaukee Brewers, all while receiving his fair share of racism to boot.

Mr. Aaron (seen above) decided to voice his concerns to USA TODAY, about the volatile atmosphere in which President Obama currently dwells as he commented that, "Opponents in the Republican party are abusing (President Obama) the same way the people who threatened him decades ago."

The icon went on to say that,"Sure, this country has a black president; President Obama is left with his foot stuck in the mud from all the Republicans with the way he's treated. We have moved in the right direction, and there has been improvement, but we still have a long ways to go in the country."

[...] "back then they had hoods. Now they have neckties and starched shirts."

Hank Aaron admitted that he still has in his possession, every racist letter that he received while he was still an active baseball player. And lately it would seem that he can add to those old letters as he has recently received new racist/hate mail, due to the previous comments he made regarding the presidency of Barack Obama.

It has been reported that tons of hate mail poured into the Atlanta Braves office, directly targeting the Senior VP that is Hank Aaron. However, all these racists' did was prove Mr. Aaron's point that racism, hate, and evil still strongly reside within our American society and that much more work is needed in order to fully eradicate it.

Many blessing and thanks to Mr. Aaron for speaking truth to power, while making the misinformed aware of America's racial plight -- no matter the consequences. This is true heroism at its best.
