David Lory VanDerBeek for Nevada Governor 2014

David Lory VanDerBeek, is a 39 year old Independent Candidate looking to unseat the current Republican Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval.

Mr. VanDerBeek is a native of Los Angeles, California, who was adopted into a Mormon family that lived in Nevada. Despite being raised Mormon, the candidate in running also identifies himself as Christian (but of the New Testament only), Buddhist, and Messianic Jew.

The veteran Idaho Army National Guard who specialized in artillery, currently works as a family therapist. VanDerBeek previously ran for the U.S. Senate to represent Nevada in 2012, but was defeated by Republican incumbent Dean Heller.

Mr. VanDerBeeks' views appear to be quite extreme as he has stated on his website that "Freedom grows out of the barrel of a gun." He also agrees that firearms and armed guards should be allowed in our children's schools. Furthermore, should he become the new governor of Nevada, he plans to repeal Obamacare (Affordable Care Act) which is outrageously successful as 4 million people have already become insured to date.

The Independent candidate seeks to allow individual counties to regulate education, and opts for total discretion regarding what each county decides to teach their students. He is for preserving what he calls "traditional" marriage between a man and a woman, he admits to being pro-life, he's against immigration support, he doesn't feel that Nevada farmers should have a license to grow crops or raise livestock, he feels that Americans should have the right to self-medicate as he firmly believes in legal marijuana, he wants Nevada to return to paper ballots and wishes to outlaw voting machines, he will eliminate the TSA positions from the airport, and he plans to stop all Nevada payments to the IRS because he feels there is no point in doing so.

Should Mr. VanDerBeek become the next governor of Nevada, he makes it very clear that dictatorship will flesh out his administration in which many Nevadans would have little say over what goes down in our city.
