Melissa Harris-Perry Apologizes for Romney Remarks

Melissa Harris-Perry of the MHP show, found herself in hot water as the Romney family didn't appreciate the remarks made by commentators regarding his newest grandchild, Kieran Romney.

Guests at the MHP show Pia Glenn and comedian Dean Obeidallah, were asked to come up with captions for specific pictures with one displaying Mitt Romney and his entire family. Jokes were made due to the obvious difference in the picture, with backlash ensuing thereafter.

The involved panelists apologized for their remarks however, when you saw the picture didn't it make you wonder? Maybe this is why?

1. Mitt Romney's infamous 47 percent comment.

2. Romney lost the black vote in the 2012 presidential election.

3. Diversity within the Republican party is scarce.

4. The Romney's are Mormon and although black people weren't allowed in the Mormon church until 1978, it's awkward that the Mormon bible suggests that an entire race of people were cursed to slavery.

5. And not to mention, the baby's name actually means "little black one" in Gaelic.

So in all fairness to the MHP show, they were probably using historical evidence that brought them to their claims?

One can surely understand how it'd be confusing to learn that the Romney's adopted a black child -- but no one is knocking it. Republicans state that their working on their outreach to minorities, and maybe the Romney's feel that having baby Kieran will help them do that?

While others may see government elections in the baby's near future as the country continues to grow more brown with each passing decade; the thought of having a team player probably wasn't to far off in thought?

Ms. Harris-Perry apologized to the Romney family that they were offended by the comments, and she even acknowledged her own childhood upbringing in a bi-racial Mormon home, making it clear that her firsthand experience doesn't bring bigotry but instead a human connection and natural curiosity, for the newest grandchild of Willard Mitt Romney.
