"Fame" And "Power" Is What Led George W. Bush To The White House
Former President George W. Bush gave an interview at the Hoover Institute, while reminiscing over his presidential years.
After the former president made his exit from The White House, it was imperative to catch his rare public appearances wherever they may have been, because you just never know what may come out of this Texans mouth.
After the former president made his exit from The White House, it was imperative to catch his rare public appearances wherever they may have been, because you just never know what may come out of this Texans mouth.
In this particular interview, the choice of word usage by the president was appalling as he spoke about his time in office, and declared that both terms were awesome because he was "famous" and "powerful".
Seriously, his exact words were, "I really don't want to be in the public eye anymore, and feel a certain sense of liberation not being out there. Eight years was awesome, and you know I was famous and I was powerful -- but I have no desire for fame and power anymore."
What former or sitting president that has driven a country into a second great depression, started unnecessary wars for the purposes of attaining revenge and crude oil, while innocent lives were taken everyday as he forgot to follow through on his promises to the American people; what person simply says his presidency was great because he attained "fame" and "power"?
The next question to this former person of the people should have been, "So you only ran for the presidency to attain fame and power, and not too help the American people?"
Bush stated in his interview that in twenty years or so, no one will remember his presidency and everything that happened. Really? Is that because he assumes Americans will eventually stop talking about it? Or is it because the majority of textbooks are printed and distributed from Texas, and recently Republicans were trying to rewrite history books after the election of President Obama?
So is the quick fix to forget history simply a rewrite of history books in order to brainwash the next generations?
Republicans can bank on Americans forgetting past history, but as long as we continue to stay engaged in the political process, in twenty years George W. Bush will still be known as the president that lead America into a second great depression. There's really no escaping that catastrophic category.
