The 2012 Presidential Election Fight Is On

Mitt Romney seen-l; President Obama seen-r

It has become abundantly clear that there are two sides in the United States of America; the side of the rich and the side of the poor.

Republicans in The House and in Congress, are fighting for the rich and Democrats are fighting for the poor, and it would seem that the GOP believes that they're the only innovators and/or job creators in this country, therefore, the middle class and the poor should fork over more taxpayer dollars to ensure they stay mega rich?

Republicans believe that as long as they're rich, somehow, someway, prosperity will trickle down to the middle class. But prosperity can't trickle down when republicans wage unfair tax codes and discriminatory laws, that are put in place on purpose.

Conservatives are blunt in saying they'd rather not contribute to programs that benefit the poor and middle class, like medicare, medicaid, and social security. Government jobs and education are a thing of the past for Republicans and they've done an amazing job thus far, being that America is in 17th place in the world with regards to academics.

However, President Obama and his administration want to do the exact opposite, as he wants to make education more affordable for all people, he wants to fix the tax code so the wealthiest Americans and big oil companies pay more than their secretaries, he wants to make medicare, medicaid, and social security stronger than ever, and he wants to sustain government jobs.

Isn't it only fair that the wealthiest Americans pay more since they've had a free ride over the past few decades, while making millions of dollars every year?

Republicans want intrusive big government in our personal lives, and Democrats want intrusive big government in the private and public sectors in order to regulate fairness across the board.

The GOP understands that the majority of Americans are against them rather than with them, which is the reason why they create so many negative attack ads against our current president. They figure if they lie about President Obama's successful track record that eventually we will begin to believe it.

But unfortunately for Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, he doesn't have enough substance in his speeches for me to believe anything he says as he reminds me of a rich frat boy; spoiled, popular among his peers, and one that believes his money can buy him anything even the presidency.

Equality for all people would be to much competition for the GOP to handle. Remember back to the Reconstruction Era in the late 1800's, after slavery in this country was abolished?

More African Americans than ever before were opening businesses, becoming more educated, and even running for political offices for the first time. Racist individuals who wished for the status quo were angry over the successes of black businesses, and because their businesses were no longer doing as great since the black dollar stayed in the black neighborhoods due to fierce segregation, white mobs  retaliated by burning down black businesses and homes as a way of solidifying that they still held the power within America.

History seems to suggest repetition and the uprising of the middle class and the poor, seems to scare some republicans into thinking that this would be detrimental to their bank accounts.

But the choice is clear; if you want to revert back to the 1950's then your guy is Mitt Romney. And if you want to move America forward and continue with substantial progress, then President Obama is your man.

OBAMA 2012!
