Catholic Churches Sue Obama Administration Over Birth Control Controversy

Catholic Institutions recently announced that they're suing the Obama administration, for making them offer birth control to their employees which goes against their religious liberties.

President Obama announced three months ago that it's morally right for churches and other religious organizations, to offer free contraceptive services to their employees. After Obama made this statement Catholic churches came out fiercely denouncing his progressive agenda.

Due to the backlash from the Catholic church President Obama, declared he found a compromise that would protect religious liberty but also ensure that women have access to free birth control no matter where they work.

In President Obama's words,

"If a woman works for a charity or hospital that has religious objection to providing contraceptive services as part of their health plan, the insurance company, not the hospital or the charity, will be required to reach out to the woman to offer contraceptive services free of charge without co-pays and without hassle.

The result will be that religious organizations will not have to pay for these services, and no religious institution will have to provide these services directly. The employers will not have to pay for or provide contraceptive services. Religious liberty will be protected and a law that requires free preventive care will not discriminate against women."

Although President Obama found a solution for the Catholic Church's issue, they're still moving forward with a lawsuit. Statistics show that 99% of Catholic women currently use birth control, so why would the Catholic church discriminate against women by denying them services that could save their lives? Birth control isn't only used to defer pregnancies, it's also used to regulate menstrual cycles, and for some women it's a life or death situation.

Why would "celibate" men presume to think they know what's best for a woman's health better than a woman?

Recently, Catholic Diocese has decided to end support to help feed the homeless due to differing views between the diocese and the Francis House executive director, on a women's right to free contraceptive services and same-sex marriage.

The Francis House Center located in Sacramento, California, has been affiliated with the Catholic church for 41 years, and has even received Catholic charity donations in the process -- but that has come to an end. The Francis House executive director stated her donations have stopped due to,

“My strong support of Planned Parenthood as a provider of health care for women, especially poor women, and my support of marriage equality,” said Francis House director Rev. Faith Whitmore, who added those were her personal views.

It was for those two reasons that Whitmore said, that the L Street homeless service agency will no longer receive its annual $10,000 donation from the Catholic Diocese of Sacramento.

When did it become cool for churches to not feed the poor due to the differing of opinions? What happened to agreeing to be disagreeable? And what does feeding the poor have to do with women's rights to free contraceptive services and same-sex marriage?

It sounds as if the Catholic churches are becoming bullies with their uncompromising ways, as they take away help from those that need it and have nothing to do with these issues, simply to prove a point?

What are the Catholic churches views on pedophilia I wonder, which seems to reside enormously within the Catholic church? Why no threats of taking jobs or funds away from the supposedly celibate Catholic priests, that rape little boys?

Is this the reason why the Catholic church is against birth control for women, because they have no sexual relationships with them?

Seriously, if the Catholic church expects 99% of their women followers to stop using contraceptive services, then we can also call on the Catholic church to expose and expunge their pedophile priests.
