The McCain/Palin Duo Gives Final Speech
Senator McCain lost the presidential election and last night, he gave his last presidential hopeful speech to the audience that became his proud supporters.
As hard as I know it was for him, he stood on stage behind the podium and spoke from what seemed like his heart. Honestly, John McCain looked more relaxed than he had in a long time, and relieved that it was all finally coming to an end.
Cindy McCain stood as still as a statue next to her husband while Governor Palin and her husband Todd, stood on the opposite side. As the camera's zoomed in on Sarah Palin's face, I noticed that she had tears in her eyes. She seemed as if she were trying not to break down, despite the smile on her face.
Maybe her sadness came from that fact that she asked to speak at tonight's concession, but was shot down by McCain's campaign strategist, Steve Schmidt?
The whole time Palin stood on stage the crowd was screaming her name, but she couldn't speak as she was silenced. Does the McCain camp feel that they lost because of, Sarah?
The truth is, both of them are at fault. Yes, Sarah made some bonehead statements and yes she took on a role that was way out of her league, but lets not forget that John McCain picked her. He let his chief strategist Steve Schmidt, convince him that picking Sarah Palin was a great idea instead of being his own leader and choosing his own running mate.
I happen to think that Sarah Palin has a heart and I'm sure she'll continue to have a successful career long after this election cycle, but Sarah needs to do what's right for Sarah, and not allow herself to be pushed around by John McCain, or her husband, or anybody.
