The Boycott of President Obama's Job Creation Speech

President Obama has called on a joint session of Congress in order to deliver his proposal on job creation.

However, the Republican party seems to have a problem with this notion, and one Republican representative in particular, Joe Walsh of Illinois. Mr. Walsh announced to the country and the host of CNN Wolf Blitzer today, that he in fact will not be attending the session, as he stated that he will not be a "pawn" or used in such a way.

Walsh stated that President Obama's speech is strictly for political reasons stating, "Joint sessions of Congress are for dignitaries from around the world, during times of war and big monumental moments. All of sudden this President is going to re-tool some jobs plan; I'd rather be home."

Walsh stated that he will go home to his state of Illinois, to speak with small business owners and job creators and will bring back ideas to share.

Recently, Mr. Walsh held a town hall meeting where he used the word "idiotic" to address the President's behavior, but on CNN he apologized for calling President Obama this degrading word. However, he then proceeded to go back on his apology to the President as he called him an idiot again stating, "The notion of him to use his office to call a joint session of Congress to repackage some jobs plan is idiotic."

How come every time President Obama does something presidential, the Republican party beats him up for it?

Almost all presidents have called on joint sessions of Congress such as: Ronald Reagan, both George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, President Carter, Lyndon B. Johnson, John F. Kennedy and the list goes on. Every President that has done this, had different reasons and agendas for doing so.

President Obama feels that there's a sense of urgency when it comes to job creation, and therefore he's willing to call on a joint session of Congress to show just how urgent this matter is. So the fact that Mr. Walsh would prejudge the president and say he already knows what he will say, although the president has yet to say anything -- makes him sound more like a high school kid complaining about not wanting to do his homework.

Apparently, Mr. Walsh feels going home to speak with job creators is the answer rather then sit in a meeting for thirty minutes to hear a possible solution?

And who are these job creators? Obviously, those job creators don't have a clue of what to do either because if they did, Mr. Walsh would've had a solution two years ago, right?

I have a solution! President Obama should reach out to budding entrepreneurs who have great inventions and/or ideas. When you invent something you create a prototype, you patent protect it, and you seek to mass produce your product through manufacturing. People are immediately put to work as they take orders and fulfill shipments as inventions and/or services do indeed create jobs.

After selecting entrepreneurs with great ideas, banks can in turn give out small business loans to help fund these great projects. Make the banks do what they are there to do; give out loans to those who need it. With the government and banks behind said projects, the turn around time for creating jobs should be fairly quick. With one person trying to do it on their own, the results can take much longer.

I believe this is the wisest strategy during this economic crisis. Companies or job creators are not pumping out anymore useful company ideas, and since some republicans don't have the sense of urgency for helping the American people, President Obama should just turn to the American people for answers.

Progress will be attained by dealing with real Americans because lets face it, WE-ARE-AMERICA.
