Earlier this February in Washington, D.C., the 'Conservative Political Action Conference' (CPAC) of 2012 took place. There has been such controversy over this year's conference due to certain invited guest speakers.
Amongst the select speakers were, Peter Brimelow (seen-r), whose organization is identified as a 'White Nationalist Hate Group', according to the 'Southern Poverty Law Center'. Peter Brimelow is an anti-immigrant writer with extremely racist views. Brimelow stated; and I quote, "America is a white nation for White people." Some of Brimelow's articles state, "Jews are weakening Americas Historic white majority" and that "Immigrants are displacing native born Americans."
Brimelow's speech was based on his topic, "The Failure of Multi-culturalism: How the pursuit of diversity is weakening the American Identity."
I'm still having trouble understanding why the gay republican group, "GOPROUD" was banned from the conference simply for being gay -- although we were told it was due to behavior and attitude. Isn't Mitt Romney's, Arizona co-chair of his presidential campaign gay? Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, co-chair of the Romney campaign, announced he's gay after he resigned over allegations of misconduct by his ex-boyfriend in a Phoenix newspaper on Thursday. Romney doesn't seem to have problems with gay people so why was CPAC so adamant about keeping "GOPROUD" away? CPAC would rather invite known racists who are harmful to other human beings? Is this the new face of the GOP, or has it always been the face just masked?
Peter Brimelow along with other white supremacists, are obvious influences on the republican party; which is probably why so many of our republican presidential candidates have had slip ups with using racist rhetoric in their speeches.
When Ron Paul ran for the Libertarian Party, Neo-Nazi leader Don Black, endorsed Paul which gave Paul his Neo-Nazi base. During one of Ron Paul's speeches, he told his audience to remember what the Conservative movement was all about. At that point one of Paul's follower's yelled, "White Power!" The statement "White Power" has always been used amongst 'Ku Klux Klan' members, so to hear it yelled out in this day and age is indicative of when it happened during the Civil Rights Era.
Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, all attended this year's CPAC but has yet to denounce the racist leaders that attended nor their views. Does this not shock or upset anyone? Do we really want a racist president who only looks out for the wealthiest people in the country? Or better yet, do we want a president who doesn't follow his own views, but instead follows someone elses views?
