The McCain/Palin Duo Gives Final Speech

Senator John McCain's speech last night was decent. He lost the election fair and square, and he knew he had to come correct or go home. As hard as I know it was for him, he stood up there and spoke from (what seemed like) his heart. Honestly, John McCain looked more relaxed then anything. He looked relieved that it was all finally coming to an end.

Cindy McCain stood as still as a statue on her husband's left, while Governor Sarah Palin and her husband Todd, stood at McCain's right side. As the camera's zoomed in on Palin's face, I noticed the tears in her eyes. She looked as if she were trying  not to break down despite the smile on her face.

Sarah Palin, asked to speak with Senator McCain last night at his Arizona concession speech, but McCain's campaign strategist Steve Schmidt, vetoed the request. No wonder why Palin was tearing up, she's standing on stage, the crowd is screaming her name and she couldn't even talk to them. They silenced her. Maybe the McCain camp felt Sarah was the reason they lost the election. But the truth is, their both at fault. Yes, Sarah made some bonehead statements, and yes she took on a role that was way out of her league, but lets not forget that John McCain picked her. He let his chief strategist Steve Schmidt, convince him into picking Sarah Palin, instead of being his own leader and choosing his own running mate. The decisions McCain made were all wrong and as a result, his campaign suffered and he was defeated.

I happen to think Sarah Palin has a heart, and I'm sure she'll continue to have a successful career, but Sarah has to do what's right for Sarah, and not allow herself to be pushed around -- not by her husband or John McCain or anybody.
